From the vantage point of my seats at Target Field, I have a beautiful view of downtown Minneapolis. Contained in that lovely view and centered amidst the lights of the skyscrapers is Target Center, where the Minnesota Timberwolves allegedly play basketball.Well, just in time for the 2010 MLB playoffs and a national TV audience, the Minnesota Timberwolves have decided to erect an advertisement for Sanford Health, an outfit out of South Dakota, on their arena. That advertisement is giant and ugly. Hideous, even.
The Twins worked hard to build a downtown ballpark with outstanding views of the city. They built a plaza with plants and art and a wind veil. There is only one entity in the entire world that could single-handily cheapen that outstanding view from the Twins ballpark and the nearby plaza.
And, folks, that one entity is the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Sorry Jeff I welcome the signage. Target Center is butt ugly and a little advertising only helps. Wish there was more color in it though.
It is kind of like painting a turd. It would be kind of cool if it was a Summit Brewing ad or something. I always thought the Wolves would put up an advertisement to Milwaukee Bucks season tickets or something.
saw G&R there, van halen, motley crue. place is gross.
tony - the opening of Camden Yards in 1992 literally changed everything in the design of stadiums and arenas (open concourses, etc.). Target Center had the unfortunate timing of being built just before that in 1990. TC, along with Bradley Center in Milwaukee were two of the last arenas to be built with the "old" design so they were outdated within 2 years of opening. Now, there are places like Xcel Energy Center that should last much longer because of their superior design.
Or until the next big thing comes along. Flying stadiums or something.
